Dirt Bike Tour in Northern Thailand - 5 Days. This tour involves grueling terrains, river-crossing, and twisty roads, which are suitable for advanced drivers. During the trip, you will be taken to stunning dirt roads, dense forests, and steep uphills and downhills. Start the new year with an exciting ride in Thailand!

Day 1 : Chieng Mai -  Pai (150 kilometers / 93 miles)

A driver will pick you up at your hotel at 8 a.m. by car and drive you to the starting point out of town. After a short briefing, your tour begins on paved roads with little traffic. The real adventure begins at the end of the so-called "Elephant Valley" where you get on twisty dual trails that take you to the Huai Nam Dang National Park and Mueang Khong. After lunch, you climb up to 1600 MSL along a stunning dirt trail before you leave the national park on the pass height, where you meet the legendary road #1095 to Pai. Let's swing down through dense forests to the hotel pool where you meet up with another group of riders who will join you for the next days.

Day 2: Pai - Chiang Dao (130 kilometers / 81 miles)

Hopefully fresh and cheerful after some Pai nightlife, you leave from Pai to ride on double trails across a mountain range towards Wiang Haeng where you meet the young Mae Taeng River. Another highlight of your trip is waiting for you that starts with a river crossing, followed by steep uphills and downhills with no shortage of ruts and small creeks to cross. This stunning section through dense jungle and forest ends at the valley of Mueang Khong where you have lunch in a simple restaurant mostly frequented by Lisu hill tribes. After the break, you continue on a tarmac roller coaster. Across mountain ranges north of the majestic Doi Luang Mountain, you get to the resort at Chiang Dao.

Day 3: Chiang Dao - Phrao (90 kilometers / 56 miles)

You head to your next destination Phrao, a small province town just 50 kilometers away. Enjoy challenging singletrack through a dense bamboo forest and stunning views on a twisty tarmac stretch along limestone mountains, farmland, and lush green jungle. As you arrive in Phrao around noon, you drop the luggage at the hotel and have a break. In the afternoon, you disappear into the woods and ride to a secluded hill tribe village hidden in a tiny small valley on the banks of a little river where some families still live without electricity.

Day 4: Phrao - Doi Mon Laan (100 kilometers / 62 miles)

After riding on paved roads yesterday, Phrao Outdoor Adventure wants to kidnap you on stunning smugglers' paths into the high mountains of the Sri Lanna National Park today. You pass through some little villages of different hill tribes on your loop to a settlement of Yunan Chinese. These trails are absolutely off the beaten tracks! On the way back, you climb up to the summit of the highest peak in the Khun Tan Range. The rough trails up Doi Mon Laan (1695 MSL) go along steep slopes with breathtaking views.

Day 5 :Doi Mon Laan - Chieng Mai (140 kilometers / 87 miles)

Your last day begins with swinging up 1000 vertical meters and 160 curves on a paved road. At the pass height, you meet the ridge road that marks the border of the two northern districts Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Covered in dense mountain forests, you follow this stunning stretch of double track southwards, around 60-kilometer dirt roads on which you pass through a few villages with coffee and tea plantations in deep jungle ravines. Back to civilization and paved roads, you relax on a stretch of 10 kilometers paved, main road and head to the famous Buatong Waterfalls. Let's have the last break with some cold drinks before you disappear on trails in a large teak forest. Single tracks, double trails, ruts, the last section of your journey has it all! No better way to finish this unforgettable trip. Uuups! There are a few paved kilometers in traffic left back to your hotel.
