This itinerary allows for average daily distances of approximately 30-50 km. This is designed to enjoy cycling through rural life and meet the people of Himachal and spiti. The vehicle will accompany and en-route make a stop for bottled water and juices for the cyclist. A nice way of sharing different experiences encountered on the way. The support vehicle will always travel behind the last cyclist. If you wish to take a break from riding wait at the side of the road and the supporting vehicle will pick you up. Delhi – Shimla – Narkanda – Sarahan – Sangla – Kalpa – Nako – Tabo – Kaza - Kibber – Chandratal – Manali - Delhi

Day 1: Delhi   Arrival   (By International Flight)

Greeting at the Delhi International airport our representative will take you to the hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2: Delhi – Shimla (2205 M)

early morning we start our journey through Shatabdi train to Chandigarh. Breakfast will be served on board. After Chandigarh, we drive down towards Shimla, from the plain to the foothills of the Himalayas. The zigzags road it's way up the beautiful mountain scenery.  You will be arriving in Shimla in the late afternoon take a stroll on the Mall that is Shimla's main promenade. Here, contemporary commercial enterprises rub shoulders with stately colonial edifices, churches, and other landmarks of the town. At one end of The Mall is the city's colorful local market, called Lakkar Bazaar to get an insight into the bustling life and crowd there in Bazaar. We stay overnight in Shimla.

Day 3: Shimla     (Approx Cycling 30 Kms)

After breakfast, we check our cycles and take a short ride around the city to acclimatize ourselves to the weather and cycling equipment. In between, we complete the government formalities and permits for our further journey. Later on, we cycle around the Mall road, a place full of activities also to Jakhoo Temple known as the Monkey Temple, and the highest point in Shimla, which offers a panoramic view of the city.

Day 4: Shimla- Narkanda (2700 M)     (Cycling Approx 35 Kms)

After breakfast, we start our cycling journey through the beautiful country sites of Shimla towards Narkanda. En route, we pass the beautiful villages of Fagu, Theog famous for cherry, apples, Apricot orchards also a vintage point to view the panoramic Himalayan ranges.  We stay overnight in Narkanda.

Day 5: Narkanda – Sarahan (2313 M)     (Cycling Approx 35 Kms)

After breakfast, we start our journey to Sarahan Village. Sarahan is famous for the temple of Bhimakali, fascinating architecture, and charming landscapes surrounded by mountains and snow-capped peaks and also often called “The Gateway to Kinnaur”. Reach Sarahan and check into the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Sarahan – Sangla (2700 M)     (Cycling Approx 30 Kms)

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Sangla. Set above the right bank of the Baspa Narrow winding road, hair-raising gorges, and high cliffs, the village of Sangla is perhaps the most beautiful. This is one of Kinnaur’s most beautiful valleys, picturesque setting, and interesting architecture. We stay overnight in Sangla.

Day 7: Full Day Excursion Around Sangla     (Cycling Approx 30 Kms)

After breakfast, we paddle to explore Sangla. First, we visit Chitkul (3450 m), the last inhabited village in the valley. Chitkul has structures that seem to have had a fairy tale as their inspiration. Later we trek towards Batseri, Kamru. Battery village has some interesting architecture, cobbled paths, and a superbly crafted temple, the path leading down to its crosses the stream with a traditional ‘Sangah’ - a bridge of cantilevered logs set in a mesh of stone and wood. Kamru – placed over a packing of dressed stone that acts as the pedestal for an exalted piece of art, the tower-like for of Kamru raises five stores high. It serves as an excellent example of an architectural style that is unique to this part of the world.

Day 8: Sangla – Kalpa     (Cycling Approx 30 Kms)

After breakfast, we continue our cycling journey towards Kalpa. Within the village visit the Narayan-Nagini Temple, which is a remarkable example of local craftsmanship, and the Hu_Bu-Lan-Kar monastery. With all the majesty of the high Kinner Kailash is a 79-foot high rock formation that resembles a Shivling. It changes color as the day passes.,We stay overnight in Kalpa.

Day 9: Kalpa – Puh (2837 M)     (Cycling Approx 40 Kms)

After breakfast paddle down towards Puh a beautiful small town located above NH 22. This town is well known for its natural beauty and lush green fields, vineyards, apricot, and almond orchards. The ride is a bit challenging but riding with breathtaking views will give you the power to reach your next destination. We stay overnight in Puh.

Day 10: Puh – Nako (3662 m)     (Cycling Approx 35 Kms)

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Nako. Located in the Pooh sub-division, this is one of Kinnaur’s most fascinating villages. It has a lake surrounded by willow and poplar trees – and the village seems to be half-buried in the lake’s borders. Nako has four Buddhist temples with stucco images and murals. We stay overnight in Nako.

Day 11: Nako – Gue – Tabo (3280 M)     (Approx Cycling 50 Kms)

After breakfast, we continue our cycling towards Tabo En route to visiting Gue village. The small sleepy indiscreet village in India where Mummy was preserved naturally. It is a high-altitude village in Spiti Valley. Founded in 996AD, the Tabo gompa has exquisite wall paintings and stucco statues – and is often called the Ajanta of the Himalaya’, after the almost legendary art-treasure site in Maharashtra. It is the largest monastic complex and has nine temples, 3 ‘chortens’, a monk’s chamber, and a nun chamber. Evening to explore the Tabo monasteries where the 14th Dalai Lama held the Kalachakra ceremonies. Tabo monastery was founded in 996 AD and it is more than a thousand years old. We stay overnight in Tabo.

Day 12: Tabo –Dhankar – Kaza (3650 M)     (Cycling Approx 48 Kms)

After breakfast, we continue our cycle journey towards Dhankar monetary (3894 m), which is located on the clifftop in Dhankar village. One of the five main Buddhist centers in Spiti valley, strategically built-in the 17th Century at the highest location Dhankar Monastery (Fort) was once the capital of Spiti valley and was the traditional home for the Nonos, royals of Spiti. Perched high over the valley, this is a superb example of Spiti’s traditional architectural skills. The second highest seventh-century Buddhist monastery in the world after Ki Monastery and an important center of Buddhist learning since the seventh century.  Later we continue our cycle ride towards Kaza. We stay overnight in Kaza.

Day 13: Full Day Excursion To Kaza And Nearby     (Cycling Approx 30 Kms)

After breakfast, we can ride to a high mountain inhabited by Kibber village (4270 m). It is a small village with traditional houses painted in white with red rooftops. En route, we also visit Ki Monastery was founded in the 11th century and is a religious training center for Lamas (Monks) situated on a hilltop close to the Spiti River. It is the largest Buddhist monastery in Spiti valley.

Day 14: Kibber - Losar     (Cycling Approx 45 Kms)

After breakfast, we paddle down towards Losar. The last village of Spiti Valley is a picturesque hamlet adorned with flowers on the pastures and ranches. Losar village the road is quite challenging with some steep ascents. A beautiful view of the confluence of Peeno and Losar streams from the village. Later we reach Losar village for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Losar – Kunzum La (4551 M) - Chandra Tal Lake (4300)     (Cycling Approx 15 Kms)

We continue our cycle journey towards Chandra Tal Lake (meaning the Lake of the Moon), en-route we will cross Kunzum La, which is also a high mountain pass, which connects Kullu, Lahaul, and Spiti valley. We stop cycling in Kunzum la and start trekking down 08 km to Chandra Tal Lake surrounded by snow this deep blue water lake has a circumference of 2.5km. We stay overnight in camp at Chandra Tal Lake.

Day 16: Chandratal – Gramphu     (Cycling Approx 30 Kms)

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Gramphu along the Chandra River. While cycling down the route it offers a panoramic view and the most thrilling experience and more fun is added when you will cross several challenging rivers. We stay overnight in camp.

Day 17: Gramphoo – Manali     (Cycling Approx 30 Kms)

After breakfast, we continue our journey toward Manali. En route, we cross Rohtang Pass, where a panorama of bare rock, snowfields, and glacier unfolds. A gateway to the Lahaul & Spiti Valleys that offer some awe-inspiring mountain scrapes, panorama, and spectacular views of the mountain. We continue our journey towards Manali. We stay overnight in Manali.

Day 18: Gramphoo – Manali

Full day for Leisure. You can paddle down to old Manali village, Vashist village (famous for hot spring and old Vashist Temple), and Hadimba Devi Temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 19: Manali – Delhi

After early breakfast, we drive 310 Kms down to Chandigarh to board the Shatabdi train for Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, our representative will assist you at Delhi Railway Station and transfer you to the hotel for an overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 20: Depart Delhi

On time you will be transferred to the International airport for the flight back home.

Mountain tour of 14 days of biking in the remotest regions of Kinnaur and Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh will have unlimited funs. Weather

Spiti Valley is a high-altitude Himalayan desert and from June to mid-October is the best time to cycle in Spiti Valley. Average temperatures range from a max of 25°C to a minimum of 05°C, however, October can be very cold. Please bring a jumper/windcheater and a sweater /shawl.
