Mỹ Tho was founded in the 1680s by Chinese refugees fleeing Taiwan when the general of the Qing Dynasty Shi Lang defeated the remnants of the Southern Ming Dynasty in 1683. The area, at the time, was once part of the Khmer kingdom and it was annexed to Vietnam in the 18th century. The city is named after the My Tho River. In the Sino-Vietnamese script, the name is given as a beautiful tree. Due to its proximity to Saigon, Mỹ Tho was the traditional gateway to the Mekong Delta. In the 17th century, the city had become one of the biggest commercial hubs in today’s Southern Vietnam.

8:00  Am. You will be picked up at your hotel in the early morning and transferred by bike to Long An. Ride to My Tho and cruise along a small creek to the Mekong River estuary and stopover at a garden on Con Phung (Phoenix Island) restaurant for Vietnamese lunch

The motorized boat cruises more along natural creeks and quiet villages in Ben Tre. Visit orchards, beekeeping farm, taste natural, and honey wine, enjoy tropical fruit, and traditional music, see a distillery, explore the local coconut candy production process, and taste candy & coconut pulp.
Keep riding along the single track around Quoi An village in Ben Tre and stop at the pier for a boat row through the narrow canal with lush water-coconut trees on head back to the motorized boat, cruising to the Van heading HCM city. Arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.
