Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau

At around 9 a.m, we will leave Hanoi on the route straight to Mai Chau, a well-known tourist destination in the mountainous area in stunning Vietnam. Along the way, you and your fellow drivers will cross through endless immense paddy fields, and magnificent limestone mountain ranges built with a unique karst system. Also, there are a large number of gorgeous landmarks including the famous Huong pagoda to visit one of the masterpieces of religion. After the 180-km distance route, you will stop by Hoa Binh for lunch. Take a short rest, then, join an off-road riding trip to the famous Kim Boi hot mineral spring where you can dip in pure water for relaxation. Passing two next passes, you will finally arrive at Mai Chau valley. Enjoy dinner in the late afternoon and stay overnight in a local homestay of the ethnic people here. There is a lot for you to experience including exotic specialties and joining together with indigenous people in their unique traditional dances.

Day 2: Mai Chau – Moc Chau

Today’s trip will lead your crew up to Moc Chau. But, before you reach the final destination, you will go sightseeing the fanciful majestic land midst in the spare fog, glorious golden sunlight shining up the whole area in the morning. Sightseeing the dreamy dawn in the valley is the best experience when the sunrise looks like gradually “pouring sweet honey” down the steep mountains. Take a short walk around local villages to see how the daily life of local people is going. Riding on the roads leading to Moc Chau, your eyes will be well treated by lush green tea hills that seem to kiss the blue clear sky. Coming to Mai Chau in its grain season, we can head up to Pom Coong and Ban Lac to take stunning pictures of golden plains, pristine villages, and innocent smiles on the faces of ethnic children here. Explore nearby areas for more marvelous landscapes because there are more to discover. The whole crew can go to some other jaw-dropping tourist hotspots such as Ba Khan, Go Lao waterfall, and the famous cave network including Chau, Kia, Mo Luong, and Pa Co caves. You and your fellow drivers will reach the target stop point in the afternoon to have lunch. You will spend the whole night for relaxation at a nearby homestay here.

Day 3: Moc Chau – Phu Yen

On the third day of the trip to Moc Chau, the whole crew will ride to Phu Yen after discovering some highlights in a wide range of well-known tourist destinations in Moc Chau. A lot of people coming to Moc Chau have voted villages hidden behind vast pine forests the must-see places in this dreamy land. For instance, Pa Peach where is full of endless gardens of white flowers blooming under the blue sky. Taking selfies here in the romantic atmosphere and fresh cool air will give you amazing life experiences. Stop by Moc Chau farm for a bit, then you will ride on Highway 2 for 2 km to peaceful Ang village. At this place, tourists will have a deep impression of tons of stilt houses which is the home to lots of ethnic groups under the immense leafy canvas. All are combined to create a breathtaking water painting that makes any heart flutter. Here, it takes some moments to breathe the fresh air among vast green pastures, lush tea hills, blooming apricot blossoms, and plum flowers. Next, you will continue the ride to Pa Peach through a quite dangerous road crossing multiple steep slopes. The way to the top of the mountains is quite tough but after all, seeing the whole view of the valley among magnificent green hills and a majestic ocean of white flowers is worth your effort. In Pa Phach, you can meet a lot of the Thai people, and enjoy the cool climate all year round on the special terrain located between wide forests and mountain ranges. Now, it’s time to move toward Phu Yen before the late afternoon. Descending the destination through a 50-km distance, we will have the chance to cross the Black River and a large romantic valley. However, the road with its rough rugged surface will be a challenge for a driver with weak riding skills. On the two sides, there are hectares of local villages of the Dao and the Kinh people. You will come to Phu Yen town to do the check-in process at the booked hotel.

Day 4: Phu Yen – Vu Linh

Today, you will drive about 150 km from Phu Yen to Vu Linh. Have breakfast first and then, ride through Hoang Lien Son which has 30 km in length. Ride through the well-known Fansipan peak which is 3,143 m high too to sightsee the whole area from above. Another choice for you is to head North from Phu Yen through countless rain forests which ensure interesting moments to experience on the way. You will also pass Ba Be lake where you can join a short tour to nearby Thac Ba. Sitting on a bamboo-made boat ridden by local people, we will cruise down to the cozy homes of the Dzao. The dinner and relaxing night on a local homestay of friendly Dzao people will be extremely perfect. Enjoy!

Day 5: Vu Linh – Hanoi

Our 5-day journey to Northwest Vietnam finally comes to an end. On the last day of the trip, you will wander around Vu Linh, which is the best road for off-road trips in Vietnam. Located in front of the Chay river, Vu Linh is endowed with breathtaking views and the unique cultural life of the Dzao. Passing endless striking curves on the way, you will cross local villages to rustic houses, palm groves, and golden terraces shining under the sunshine. There are multiple traditional cuisines of the Dzao people to taste here including such as banana flowers, fish salad, rice blossoms, shrimp dumplings, Vu Linh wine, and sticky rice. Drinking Vu Linh liquor, you can feel the fragrant aromas from local sticky rice. How to enjoy local cuisines here is also special. People will sit down together on the floor in a big circle and then, enjoy different dishes in a very cozy and friendly atmosphere. Close the last day of your Northwest 4x4wd  tour and say goodbye to the local hosts before returning to Hanoi.
